I am back from brisbane!!!!

the trip was such a fun. -- i had another darling (:

well. lets start from the 9th of nov bahx.

the flight was an 2350 flight(: it takes about 7-8hours to reach brisbane international airport. The airline that we took was etihad, an arabic international airline. Well, its wuite good as there are television there for us to watch (:

On the way there, i watched underdog and firehouse dog, and a bit of rush hour 2. I cried when i watched the firehouse dog. anyway, i didnt manage to sleep as my seat wasnt that comfortable. very difficult to sleep lol. And guess what? i saw sunrise on the plane! it was damn nice and magnicifant (:

We reach brisbane on 10th of nov at around 8 am their time, which is about 6 am in Singapore. The weather was very windy and cold. After reaching the airport, we took a coach to the jetty and took a ferry to North Stradbroke Island where i spend most of time of the trip there.

after reaching the island, we walked about a 10 minutes journey to the MBRS, where we settle into our rooms. my group has three of us, and i took the upper bunk (:

after that, we went for lunch and had a 2 hours break before the island orientation.

the next day, 11th of nov, we have to wake up at 630 am (which is equivalent to 430 am singapore time) Breakfast was at 730 , had an hour of lecture on water quality and we set off to the point lookout, where we have a bit of hiking and sightseeing. We saw the ocean waves! its damn beautiful. Its like having a vacation on the saipan island. the waves are big and are white. And i manage to see a school of dolphin. But i didnt manage to get any pictures of them as there are too far le.

After the walk, we went to the cylinder beach, where we took some simeple water quality test using the horiba to test its temperature, salinity, pH value, turbidity, conductivity and amount of dissolved oxygen. then we took abit of water sample and bring back to the lab to test for nitrates, nitrite, phosphate and ammonia level in the water using test kits.

we had our lunch on the bus. its okay okay lar. and i did realise something, the austrailians are ought to have eggs in their meal everyday .=X

the we went to another site to take a water quality tests and collected sample. at that site, we saw a number of dead fuanas in the water. its quite digusting.

then for the night, we watched a very old movie, the crocodile. and its the end of the first day.

12th november, we woke up at the same time, had breakfast at the same time. After breakfast, we set off to the Blue lake. We took a very long time to hike into the blue lake. about 20 minutes and there are lots of flies, mosquitoes and insects flying around us. We did the same thing as what we have done for the day before and observed the number of aquantics insects living in the water. We saw lots of fresh water prawns and yabby (they are damn small lol). After collecting samples at the blue lake, we proceed on to the brown lake and had our lunch over there.

13th november.
We went to the mangrove in the morning and we are suppose to walk in it. the water is very cooling.

in the afternoon, we went to the 18 mile swamp and the beach!!! heex. (:

14 th november.
we spend the whole day in the station and had continuous lectures and lab works. but i learnt lots on that day. (:

15th and 16th november
we did research on our project which is to investigate failed test kits on phosphate and determine unknown by using the spectrophotometer. We have to write a written report on it and presentation slides within two days. its quite hectic as for the second day, we spent the whole day in the library. oral Presentation was on the second night and we are the first group to present as our tutor dr martin wanted us to do so.

17th november

we have to wake up 5 in the morning as we are suppose to catch the ferry at 730am back to the city. The weather wasnt very good as it was raining for the morning. After reaching the city, we went to the lone pine to take a look at the koala bears. they were sleeping the whole day man. There are also other animals there such as the walababies, kangeroo, sheeps and dogs, dingoes, and reptiles ! my darling was damn cute larx. when we were looking and the reptile area. =X

after that, we went back to our hotel to check in and went shopping at the queensland mall. We are not suppose to go out at night as the security there at night wasnt that good.

18th november
we went to the science museum in the morning. after that we went to the market and queensland mall to do our final shopping (:

19th november
supposingly our flight is at 1240 pm de. but due to the dense fog at abu chapi the day before, the plane is unable to reach brisbane on time. therefore, it is delayed till 1630 pm. and we stayed at the airport.sianx larx. this results in reaching singapore at 2230 instead of 1830 lol. haix.
